To Russell by car

Russell is just 3 half hours drive from Auckland (250km) via State Highway 1 through Whangarei.

Follow the signs north of Whangarei to the turnoff just before Kawakawa. Follow the signs to Opua Car Ferry, run by Fullers Great Sights.

The car ferry runs as a shuttle from 6am to 9.50pm and takes about 15 minutes. Please ring us if you think you are going to miss the ferry as there is an alternate but longer route.

To find us from Opua car ferry after you arrive in Okiato follow the signs to Russell then watch out for the sign Uriti Bay and Te Akau Drive on your right not long after the petrol station. Once you turn into Uriti Bay Estate, Pukeko Nest is the first building on the right hand side no 16, down the large driveway with palm trees.

To Russell by Air.

Air New Zealand flys daily from Auckland to Kerikeri. A shuttle Bus runs to Paihia, where you can take the 15 minute Passenger ferry crossing to Russell.

Russell by Coach

Intercity coaches or the Naked Bus runs from Auckland to Paihia, and the journey takes about 4 hours. It is then just a short trip on the Paihia passenger ferry across to Russell.
